Quality of Life / Accelerated Death Benefit Riders
TerminalChronicCritical
Corebridge's current claims site supports Critical, Chronic and Terminal Illness accelerated-death-benefit claims when included on the policy.
Some Critical/Chronic riders require the rider to be in force for at least 30 days; most chronic riders also have a 90-day elimination period.
Coverage is policy/rider-form specific. Corebridge directs policyowners to the actual rider language for the covered-condition definition.
For accurate comparison, add the exact QoL product/rider form used by FFIM before showing a disease-list summary to a client.
Why no fixed disease list here? Corebridge's current public claim guidance explicitly tells the policyowner to verify the policy rider for covered conditions. This avoids mixing older QoL rider definitions with a current case.
Current term materials describe terminal illness as physician-certified life expectancy of 12 months; product/state variations apply.
FFIUL materials show optional Chronic and Critical Illness ADB riders that must generally be elected at application and are subject to underwriting/state availability.
Current FFIUL agent materials state Chronic benefits may generally be claimed no more frequently than annually; Critical rider terminates after three claims under that guide.
Always check California-specific form. Administrative fees and definitions can differ in CA.
Unable to perform without substantial assistance at least 2 ADLs for 90 continuous days, OR requires substantial supervision due to severe cognitive impairment.
